SNMP MIB Manager interface
I'm not sure if this is a result of the 2018 beta or if it was like this previously, but I went to add some MIBs and noticed a couple oddities with existing ones in the MIB manager. I've attached a couple screenshots.
I can confirm that if I open the MIBs in a text editor that the files themselves are not corrupted, I tried restarting services and the results are the same. Has anyone else run into this?
@Chris Morris Great! Glad you're all set with this now. Thank you!
@Robbie Kohn I had backup copies of those MIBs from when we migrated our install to dedicated hardware so I replaced the existing files with those. I still had an error but this time it pointed me at a different file in that directory called v2-mib.my, which appears to just be the same MIB as SNMPv2-MIB, but something about it was broken. Since it was a duplicate, I deleted it and the errors cleared up and I'm not seeing the weird line number only output when I view those MIBs anymore.
I'm not sure how I ended up with a set of duplicate MIBs under a different filename, but given the extension I think it was part of one of the Cisco ZIPs I've put into that folder.
Thanks for your help!
@Chris Morris I copied and pasted your two MIB files into a txt file and saved them to my beta server. On the SNMPv2-CONF, I have warnings, but not the errors you are seeing and my file looks entirely different when I open it with the MIB Manager tool. For the second one, I have no errors at all. That would indicate that the MIB file is corrupt in some way. May I suggest you delete these two MIB files, and recreate them? If you could try that and let me know if that worked for you or not, that would be great.
@Chris Morris I see that you already emailed them to me. Thank you!
@Chris Morris Let me ask our dev team about that for you, but could you please email me the two files you uploaded and I'll see if I can reproduce the issue. Thanks!
@Robbie Kohn I don't think the SNMPv2-CONF MIB was one I uploaded but I had at one point uploaded a copy of SNMPv2-MIB that was part of a ZIP from Cisco. I had just unzipped all the MIB files and copied them over, but Cisco formats their MIBs with the .my extension rather than as a .txt or .mib. As far as I can tell though the content within is the same. I may have confused WUG by putting two files with the same name in that directory, but I have since removed the .my file and restarted services and that's when I took the screenshot.
@Chris Morris These are MIB files you've uploaded to WhatsUp Gold? If so, could you email me the MIBs and we'll try to repro this in-house. Thank you.
