Moving Storage to a Different System

We are migrating to a new storage system. Is there any documentation anywhere on how to move the data to a new system? My first thoughts were to shut down the server, robocopy the data to the new system, start the server and change the file path in the config app on the server. Any advice or help?

In order to minimize downtime when migrating a large filestore, you can robocopy the data in advance using the /MIR switch which mirrors subdirectories and deletes files from the destination that no longer exist on the source.  Then for step 2 of the linked KB, you run robocopy /MIR after stopping the MOVEit Transfer services to do a final sync.

Your approach sounds reasonable. I’d recommend taking a full backup first, stopping all services that access the storage, and copying the data while ensuring permissions and ownership are preserved. After updating the storage path in the configuration, verify that the server can access the files and that everything works correctly before removing the old storage. The exact steps may depend on the application and storage setup.
