maximum length problem

If I go years back I remember I had to make a script that set the max-width for fields.. I am getting a lot of these errors:
Could not update field 'ckortnavn' of target in a BUFFER-COPY statement. (5368)

It seems like close to every field has this problem. Do I still need to run DBTOOLS to analyse and fix this issue? or do Pro2 have scripts to help?

I am not aware of any scripts related to this error, but I will check. However, this KB article might help you.

I have ran the dbtools and I still have problems with one table:
How do I change the max width? do I have to do it on SQL?
I changed the MS SQL database by doing:
ALTER TABLE sysreg ALTER COLUMN srparam varchar(40);
I also updated dataserver schema, but not sure if that is necessary...
Now it seems to work.
