Moveit Automation cleanup - tips/best practice

Hi all, I need to perfrom a major cleanup of our Moveit Automation, basically delete obsolete/unused Hosts and Tasks. I have identified those elements but need to know what I should do before actually deleting in the event I need to restore some HOSTS or TASKS. Any suggestions? We will take a full backup and we do have a test server available. Is there some way to export HOSTS and TASKS that I can then use the XML to import just the HOST or TASKS that i may need to restore?

Set a filter to those tasks you need to get rid of, and export them. The host definitions will be included.

You can't simply export the hosts, but you can export the whole config if required.

Hi Thanks - we are running version 16 and i cant seem to see how to create a list of only the tasks i want to export - is there a option from the task List? I cant seem to see any filter for that. I tried the bulk export option, but it wants to create a ley/password and then creates an XML of all tasks which i do not want. I reviewed some progress knowledge base searches but cant seem to see any detail on how to do it.

Are you filtering by host in the menu on the left? That way you only get tasks with those hosts that you are interested in. the key/passphrase protects credentials that are in the hosts. If you need to import again later, you'll need the key/passphrase. Look inside the XML, this bit is the host definitions that you want:
