How to create Temp User account?

We were able to create Temp Users on MoveIT Transfer but ever since we upgraded to the latest version (Version: 2026 (18.0.2.911)) that option no longer appears when creating user accounts. I looked through the documentation for v2026, but it does not give the instructions on creating a temp user account, even though it does reference temp user permissions.

 

I need to figure out why this option suddenly disappeared and what steps are needed to re-enable this option.

 

Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

 

I have included screenshot of an Existing Temp User and their settings page. The last one is when I go to Add/Create user account.

    First, 18.0.2 is not the latest version - you should upgrade to address vulnerabilities

     

    I don't recall ever being able to create a tempuser this way - tempusers are created by end users who send packages or share folders.

     

    Could be wrong though, but I'm unclear why you would need to create a tempuser outside of those activities...

      That you Richard for that information. I totally had a brain fart as I do not create temp user accounts and another admin was asking me about it. I told them the same information you gave me but they swore up and down that is how they did it. Had me 2nd guessing myself...ha good times.

    @Anthony Berger (Customer)​ There are 2 accounts that Admins cant create -->temp users and Guest users.

    These users mainly comes into play while sending packages using the Adhoc module.

    The former can be seen at User list and has a default expiration policy set which would expire the temp users and later delete them.

    The guest users are not part of MOVEit Transfer User list, users can choose to send packages to guest users and same would be delivered but these will be treated as unregistered recipients therefore, wont get added in the user list.

    Clients that send a lot of packages to multiple placeholders choose to use the option "guest users" instead of temp users.

    The only users that An admin can create is 1. Admin 2. fileadmin 3. Audit user 4. User
